Cultural heritage analysis, documenting and survey services

ABC’s activities are the first step in getting to know the cultural and environmental heritage. To do so it uses all the methods that are useful for the acquisition of iconographic, formal geometric, material data, etc.

In 1994, ABC acquired from Finmeccanica/Galileo, two companies known on an international level: Selesmar – an industry producing radar (later sold on) – and Galileo Siscam – leader in the production of hardware and software for studying the territory and cultural heritage.

Thanks to the subsequent development and greater amount of new technologies, today A.B.C. can perform the following operations: instrumental surveys, diagnostics, monitoring and drawing up preparatory data for architectural and environmental research, planning, assessment and checks.

In the working field of survey, many techniques are applied, aimed at obtaining knowledge of architectural, archaeological and environmental assets, through integration of different methods:

  • Topographical, photogrammetric and direct surveys
  • Laser scanner surveys
  • Photographic surveys
  • Surveys of the materials and of the surfaces deterioration.

ABC is also able to provide photo maps and orthophoto maps for surveying the territory and making cartographic and cadastral maps and maps for performing G.I.S..

Main services include the following:

  • Multimedia information systems
  • Vectorialisations and digitalisations
  • Solid modelling
  • Rendering and animations of virtual models
  • Data filing and management.

ABC offers non invasive investigation services, aimed at analysing and mapping underground locations, buried items and non accessible structures, such as inside parts of walls, floors, foundations.
The fields of application of geophysical methods cover a wide range of applications:

  • Archaeological research
  • Environmental soil studies and analyses
  • Search for buried items or structures
  • Search for sub-facilities
  • Preliminary surveys supporting war ordnance reclamation operations.
