Clearance of explosives

Places that have experienced conflict and war are apt to be “polluted” by the presence of unexploded explosive ordnance (UXOs), or parts of devices that are still active and therefore lethal because their explosive potential remains practically the same for an unlimited length of time.

As a result, every time work has to be carried out in areas possibly affected by the presence of mines and/or UXOs in order to restore or build for example:

  • roads, bridges, buildings, etc;
  • stations and railroad lines, electricity power lines or waterworks lines;
  • pipelines for transporting hydrocarbons or natural gas;
  • geological surveys for mining work;
  • searches and archaeological excavations;

all the activities must be preceded and accompanied by clearance operations to guarantee the safety of the personnel and machinery and the end work.

ABC is today able to affront new clearance scenarios with the latest technologies, the most stringent safety procedures and an advanced Quality Control System.

In the recent years ABC has also developed a study focusing on the search of explosive devices left by war and archaeological surveying, using the following non-invasive techniques.
In line with the activity of clearance, ABC works to the security of territories and people with services:

  • crises management
  • perimeter security
  • vip protection
  • risk analysis.
